CAMike 03-24-2005, 11:33 PM Hi,
You might want to try the "Search" Tab. It's in the blue bar. Since you're going to find quite a few answers to just about all of you questions...try one at a time. :pimp:

Howdie I seen one of these trucks just the other day fueling up!
First the exhaust will be a bit challenging do to the commercial application you'll prolly have to do a little self engineering. Best to do is just get as free flow muffler as possible.Donaldson has some nice choices.Ditto with the Air intake system. Ask a vendor here if they can help you out although.
Chips on the fly changes ,Edge, Van Aaken have ways to adjust power on the fly. With Edge you can select the Attitude monitor and get EGT readings also.Easy to install and remove.
Quad is a down loader style tuner as is the Predator you can only select one tune at the time of loading the ECM .
Smoke? Come on now ;)
You'll have to be cautious with your automatic ,seems it will be your bread and butter, wouldn't want to go hungry when your truck is limping along.Limping is when you over power the transmission and it reverts to one gear 3rd and no reverse. If it should happen pull over shut truck off sit wait ,restart.Repeating this will end up causing irreversible damage to your Allison clutches.
Best would be to select a mild tune for additional torque and work your tail off and mildly build your Allison to take more.
Ease the seat back and enjoy the ride, welcome to the Dieselplace!
WAskier 03-25-2005, 12:38 PM I have this feeling that you're going to need a suncoast stage V ;)
05c4500 03-25-2005, 06:20 PM thanx alot
guys i feel welcome cant wh8t to get the truck to start blowing soot all over the place:D
05c4500 03-25-2005, 06:25 PM okay i called outlaw diesel and they told me the tranny whould hold up to a 125hp tunner as long as i dont run it all day long--something about fuel cutoff?? they also said they can do the exhaust im gonna go dual my uncle was the first to go duAL exhaust on his 3500 LLy in miami ... i wanna also go dual cause ant nobody getting away for the SOOT MONSTER---yes i know im having to much fun---lol cant wh8t
dpower 03-25-2005, 07:58 PM 125hp....thats pushin it definately for towing....the truck runs way to hot for that. For a good solid tow set-up I would try a 65-70 hp tune and get some analog gauges and a pod. For your tranny needs you have one of the best in the business right in your home state....suncoast. Maybe give them a call and see what they recommend tranny wise....I would say a lvl3 would be about right. And lastly....welcome to the place!!!!
05c4500 03-26-2005, 03:13 PM thanx yes i was thinking about 70hp during weekdays and 125hp on weekends cause i wot be towing on weekends just messing around with my buds
05c4500 03-26-2005, 03:28 PM nobody has chimed in on the intake... its diffrent on the c4500 cause it has like a wierd kind of ram air it run's thouh the hood to a little ent on the side
Mike L. 03-26-2005, 05:53 PM I will shortly have one of these monsters to mod. I will be doing the Ally and will ship the truck over to TTS for a program and possible exhaust. We have to see it first. Should be fun.
coyotekid 03-26-2005, 06:05 PM Did I understand correctly from you're other posts and this one that you're a high school kid, currently drive an SS, but you're switching to a 4500 now?
Why ya going with a truck like this?

LOL 05c4000, you make it sound like your wanting it to be like your SS zipping around FL. With this truck, you are not going to be zipping around. I've put close to 4000 miles on my rig this past month.
It is a heavy truck....that will not break any speed records up to its 75 mph governed limit. Adding a tuner will liven it up, but still, it is a low geared heavy rig. Pulling my 5'er this past week, I went to a truck stop just to see the weight, ok...sitting down, 32,080 pounds. On the flats, cruizing at 67, no problem. Pulling the big grades, just sit back, enjoy the ride.....42 mph, same as the big trucks.

That's exactly right, with time, money, and 'engine'uity, and more money, and more money, anything can happen.
LOL
05c4500 03-27-2005, 10:37 PM yes im in high school.. the SS is a nice truck and all but i love the size of the 4500 its huge the SS is just boring awd cant even do a burn out!!!!!!!
+diesel is funner get to throw soot all over people
coyotekid 03-27-2005, 11:32 PM Uh, OK then. You ever driven something like this? If you thought your SS was underpowered/slow, then you're gonna think it was a rocketship compared to this thing!
These weren't designed to be used as daily drivers...they're a commercial application type of a truck designed for heavy pulling.
I guess if you want one, go for it, but I just can't understand what you're going for here.
Also, it's none of my business, but did you recently rob a bank or something? You're in high school and have an 04 SS, a 95 Impala SS, and now you're going to be driving a 4500?

He said he liked the 4500 because it was huge, not faster then the SS. Besides if it wasn't for guys like him where would we be today with our BIG, HEAVY, SLOW diesels. Someone had to take there work truck and soop it up!!! :ro)
I say let him spend his hard earned bank robbery money on whatever he wants!!!
coyotekid 03-28-2005, 05:19 AM :ro) True story! I just didn't figure that was the "cool" thing these days: "I'll show all you guys--I'm gonna get a Peterbilt, and I never plan to pull a trailer!"
Sorry, this is just funny to me! People give me **** about being a college kid with a 3/4 ton truck with a diesel in it.
No offense, though--it's your life, and you've gotta live it. Got get 'em bud!:grd:
