The wheels are Eagle Series 114 in 18x9.5. The look almost identical to my Weld Evo Velociti 8s on my 2002. I got a smoking deal on them for under 200 bucks a wheel delivered from Tomzwheels on ebay. Much cheaper than the Welds and they have the same weight rating. I hope they hold up as well as the Evos have for me so far but for the price I am very happy.

Much meatier than the stocker and they really fill out the wheel wells nicely. I got them mounted and balanced tonight with the Yokohama Geolanders so they will go on the truck tomorrow. Pics to follow and Peaches likes the new shoes.

Only go around once right? Were did you get the front hitch?

BMDMAX

I don't exactly recall, I got it online. Just google for hidden hitch front 2500HD or look here http://www.ontheball.com/front_end_hitches_chevy.htm for one. Fairly cheap, and it works great for spotting trailers, pulling stuck vehicles out, rope work, tree cutting, etc. I also got an engine service platform and a winch hookup for mine.

Mucho handy. :D

Put the new wheels and tires on today. Truck rides so much better now and looks totally different. The 6 inch backspace does well with these, they tuck in pretty close on the back wells and just a bit of the outer edge on the fronts.

Tom :pig:

They are 18x9.5 wheels. Using the right tire allows you to upsize the rim while keeping the stock suspension geometry. Wheel and tire places call it plus sizing. The new rims are significantly bigger, 2 more inches in diameter and 3 inches in width. Using the 285/60-18 tire versus the 245/75-16 lets it go right on because of the smaller aspect ratio. This explains it pretty well: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/general/plusone.jsp

As for the photos, provided you host the images on your own website you can link the post to the photos rather than upload them to the forum servers. This allows you to bypass the forum set size limitations. :ro) Those images are only 1024x768 though so if your monitor resolution is set to 640x480 or 800x600 they will look huge! I resize the images from their native 2272x1704 so they will fit most peoples monitors better and it gets the images down to a couple hundred K versus 2 MB each.

Hey BMDMAX, are you going to tow anything heavy with those tires? How many plys are they and what is the weight rating?

BMDMAX

Hey BMDMAX, are you going to tow anything heavy with those tires? How many plys are they and what is the weight rating?

Yep. The wheels and tires are rated higher than the stockers. I am not sure what the ply is as it is rated as a reinforced tire. The load rating is 3086 at 50 PSI versus the stock E load tires at 3042 at 80 PSI.

I have the same tires on my 2002 and it tows heavy stuff just fine.

These are a street tire only so if you have a 4WD it better be a pavement queen......
