I was looking at AC oil filters for my 6.0 litre, and it appears that the PF46 & PF59 are the same except for length. I was wondering if anyone is using the PF59 instead of the PF46 to get more filtering?

Use to do this with the old PF25 & PF35, also the PF47 & PF52.
Thanks,
JP

I use the PF59. It came on my truck new in 2001. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

Interesting,

I wonder why the 2004 has the PF46? Maybe there is a clearance issue I haven't seen yet.....hmmmmm. The Suburban and the truck should be the same underneath. I think I'll try a PF59 and see what happens. Thanks for the reply.

Just in case anyone wants to know, the PF59 does work on the '04 6.0 motors. Did mine today. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

They started putting the PF46 on the 2003s and you are right they will work fine. Both AC and WIX show exact specs except for the length and filter media area. Edited by: Professor
