Ok so heres the deal. After buying v2 and filling both the licenses, one of my buddies saw how cool efi was and wanted it on his truck. Well i purchased another license put it on the handheld and tried to load a tune on his truck. Now to the problem, efi fails at the getting status part. It will attempt it 10 times and then say check your connections. What i dont understand is that right after this we tried on the two trucks that are already licensed and we swapped out tunes in no time. Could there be something wrong with the trucks obd2 port? What am i doing wrong? Thanks in advance. O the truck in question is an 04.5 lly/ alli

May require the port not be set to high speed from some of the things I have been reading lately. The ECM is complatiable. Can you read the tune off the truck? If so what version is the OS.

Plug the v2 in by itself, do the leds flash and the screen turn on? The cig. lighter fuse is where I would check first...

That or plug in a car charger to see if it works....

No we cannot read off of the truck, but ill go try taking it off high speed. Fuse for the lighter is good as well. Still confused...

Damnit to late to edit. Cigarette fuse was blown so now we can get into the ecm but we have an os error and efi says that until they are the same we cant put a tune on? Any ideas?

You can full flash a different OS into a truck but I wouldnt recommend it.

What you can do is run a script of the tune your trying to put in and run that script on your buddies tune...

The tune we are runnin is from a 05 LLY which we figured would work fine. Maybe it won't?

Follow these instructions for scripting and you should be set.

You don't want to compare the tunes you want to script the tunes. It won't let you open both tunes?

ok, what you have to do...

1. open up your stock tune, then click load alt tune and open the tune you are running in your truck. (They should be the same OS since you loaded it in your truck)
2. Make sure units are imperial...
3.Go to Edit, then creat script. Once it has created the script, then save it.
4. Open up your buddies tune and make sure units are in imperial then go to edit, then run script. Once it goes through the run script screen your tune is done....

5. Do a "Save As" and save it under a different name.

Done, you have a pm
