I just received my Predator! I installed the 65 hp tune and I can't wait until the Allison has relearned so it can be flogged. Also increased the governor to 120mpg. I thought I was going to keep this thing stock?

120 MPG??? WTF? With today's fuel $'s, We all need one of these! Sorry, Mr. Reineke, I'm sure it was just a typo, but I couldn't resist the oppertunity. I would love to get the milage my Jetta gets in my '01 D/A. 50 mpg would awsome. But so would going 120 MPH would, too. Then it would be the best of both.

It's easy to get 120mpg with the Predator. First you find a really tall mountain...

I thought someone posted a way to speed up the trannys relearning curve, driving up and down hills or something like that.

As usual I only remember enough to be dangerous.

i think it was to get up to 50 mph and then down shift it to 1st gear. the allison will take it down the gears on its own in a safe manner. i think they said to do it 3 or 4 times and it will learn it faster.

Keep it on 100 and you will need to be looking for upgrades sooner than you think. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif

You are welcome sir! Just don't run that Allison too hard and hurt it now. It seems for some mysterious reason that they make great progress learning after shutting down for a while and restarting.

I've come to the conclusion that the whole "50 mph downshift to first" thing is total bull****.

I knew it was bull**** before I ever tried it, but I figured I'd find out for myself. While it certainly won't hurt anything, it does no good.

Kennedy is definitely correct in that the Alli needs to take a study break fairly often in order to learn well.

120 mpg, that is funny, obviously it should have read 120 mph. LOL! The truck has had the day off today and has about 100 miles on it since the install. I have only opened it up once since the install and in between the nasty shifts, it was amazing. It has been babied since and the shifts have been getting better. Fuel milage is on the rise and according to the famously incorrect DIC, it reads 21.3. Will test at the end of this fuel run to verify. I am thinking that I should have gotten this thing sooner.
