Just wondering here, trying to figure out what to do.

Looking to install the edge juice/attitude soon.
1) do I need a different exhaust? (not planning on using levels 3 and up, I think)
but I will be towing a 40ft enclosed with a heavy foot (75-80mph)

2) if I should replace the exhaust , should I do it cat back or turbo back??
I read if you do turbo back, you will get codes and other fun stuff.:o:

How much louder is cat back in the cab itself. (do not want to drive 16hours an loud noise) but do not care about the neighbors):h

please let me know what you guys thinking

i would do it. especially just to lower the egts. 200 degrees makes a difference.
if you plan on doing it, yes, go turbo back for best benefits. There are some high flow mufflers that aren't that much louder. people don't notice much difference within the cab, but outside is louder.

aeroturbine makes a muffler that is high flow and states that the sound is near stock. but it is a 3.5" inlet/outlet muffler. their 4" is more throatier. i plan on getting the rest of the mbrp exhaust soon.

Definitely recommend an exhaust with any type of programmer, especially if you will be towing. Your biggest enemy is exhaust gas temperatures, programmers normally deliver more fuel to create more power which results in more heat. Excessive EGT's can damage the turbo, pistons, etc. :o:

Before I forget you will need an EGT gauge as well to monitor EGT's with. E/J with attitude has one built in along with EGT and tranny protection. Others will normally require a separate gauge.

I just had the MBRP 4" cool duals installed with CAT removed. Definitely a different sound. Not too loud unless you romp on it. You certainly will hear a lot more turbo spool up though. Later. JJ :)

You didn't say what you were driving, but the LLY without any muffler at all is fairly quiet.

HP gains are worth it.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will need to dig a little deeper in that pocket in search for more $$$.

Driving a 04.5 black Chevy 3500 dually LT.
the trailer is a 40ft enclosed pace but will never exceed a total 10.000lbs.

One more question:

is it true that (if i remove the cat.) i will get codes and is the only solution
the "finger stick"??

i do not know if I want do deal with codes and is there is a simple solution.

Love the help!!!!!!!

Sander states "Driving a 04.5 black Chevy 3500 dually LT"!
MBRP 4" COOL DUALS! Yeah Baby, yeah! :ro)

I just put this exhaust on my dually and the sound is freakin awesome. Took some getting used to initially since the LLY runs so quiet with the CAT and OEM muffler. Now I can really hear the turbo hiss and the VVT open/close when you nail it. Nice deep rumble! No codes yet, at least none that I know of. :o: I'll pull through Autozone and get them to check though. Later. JJ :)
