Question all,
I've got a 92' 5.9L in a 350 single cab, I've got the pump screw turned all the way in (I think), spring out of the aneroid and a 3.5" straight exhaust out the back. I'm thinking about the small exhaust side of the turbo, what are the good and bad points for the preformance and engine life? Any other suggestions for MORE POWER? Thanks, JCH.

The exhaust side of your turbo is actually to big,it should be a 22.5 cm housing,or an 18.5 cm.The 94s-00s had 12cm housings. You can increase boost, and sharpen the turbos spoolup response by going to a 16cm housing. That is the one everyone uses for max performance with the HX35 or HC1.Are you having EGT trouble yet?

As far as I know I don't have any EGT trouble. What does EGT stand for, Exhaust Gas _____? I know the 16cm housing would give you better acceleration, but does it limit you any other way? Has anyone messed with larger innercoolers or intakes for that vintage of 5.9L?

egt = exhaust gas temprature... too hot = bad... 1300° - 1350° is getting real hot... below 1300°f and your temps are in check more or less...

Temp, got it. Not that I know of, I'm currently looking at pyrometers and trying to decide which brand to go with. Any suggestions? Also, who makes the best 16cm exhaust housing for that year of 5.9L?

If you plan on making some power, you might as well get a three pillar mount and add a boost gauge along with tranny temp or something else..... as far as good gauges go, most of them are good, it just depends on how much money you are willing to spend, in other words, you don't have to get something fancy for it to work.

My setup is ISSPRO...I got a triple A-pillar mount, with a boost, pyro, and fuel pressure...then i got a steering column mount with just a tranny temp guage....looks good works better.....
