Has anyone ever taken apart the headlight assembly, removed the lens from the housing? From trying to take them apart it seems like they used a sealant to seal the lens to housing not just a gasket... one of my friends has done this to a subaru and he had to put his headlights in the oven for a little while to soften the gasket up... So if anyone has done this allready with success let me know...if not i guess i'll let you know how baking the headlights turns out...

I did mine with razo and a lot of time, cut the sealer. Heating them in the over seems to make sealer sticker. To much heat tweaks the lenses. All I can take your time,it worth it .Mine are painted and reinstalled. Pics in my garage

hmm.. how did you do it with a razor blade, maybe the seal in the chevy lights is in a different place. on mine the seal is down in a groove, so i don't know if i could get a razor blade in there...
..also what did you paint them with?

It worked out pretty good... i shot three coats of night shades to the back of the reflectors. There is still an amber tint to them in the right light, they look like dark smoke rather then black, i have another set of headlights that i might try to paint the front of.
but now i want to find euro lenes for them, the kind that don't have the diffusers on them... does anyone know if you can get just the lenes with out the whole assembley.

The photos make em look more amber then they actually are...
now i need to get some clear DRLs, but i can't decide if i want black backed or chrome backed
