Hi I just wanted to introduce myself, I am looking to buy a diesel truck sometime in the near future, I had a cummins a couple of years ago, but I really like the looks of the Chevys or GMCs and have heard great things about the Duramax with the Allison tranny. I will be useing it to pull my fith wheel camper and wil probly average 5xxx to 6xxx miles a year.o I thought I would start reading the post here to get some info.

Just a mild suggestion: Look for an 06-07.5 Classic with the LBZ motor. Less emissions stuff than the new body style types with the latest Duramx the LMM.
Seems to be the best of the bunch...not knocking the LMM mind you.

Check the VIN of an 06. If the 8th number I believe it is, is a 2 then you have an lbz. Correct me guys if I am wrong on that.
