My co is going to order/find a 08 or 09 van with dmax in early Dec and I cant find much info in regards to specs and mods .I am coming out of a E350 with PSD 165,000 miles they want to retire it. I had a Diablosport tuner on it for and really loved it.I was wondering if there were any mild mods for it available yet I have read that like the PSD they are detuned due to airflow Is this correct? I carry approx 8900 in it with my big a-- in it Any info or links would be appreciated.

Go through and read some of the threads in the Van section here. There is some good info.

I had an 06' and the only performance mod I did was a bully dog tripple dog tuner. It woke it up big time. The reason for the detuned dmax is the transmision they put behind it is what I've been told. If you want check out my myspace page (hasn't been updated in about 14mo.) I've got a couple pics of mine. I had 22's and installed the chrome front end with the halogen lights. Huge differance in looks. I've got a friend that did the same thing just with 20's and he had a ton of problems with his brakes. I never had any issues.

Just to let you know a little more about the van I built, I sectioned it off, put leather captains chairs up front, leather bench in the back, 7" indash clarion dvd player, 10.2" overhead, I put a 50gal water tank right behind the bench seat and plumed it out the bottome to wash my bikes, put a couple of 6X9s in the partitian and mounted an amp inbetween for for a 12L7 that sat next to the water tank, also added power windows and locks along with an alarm, when I had the whole thing apart I dynamated the entire thing.

It turned out really good just took a while doing it in the drive way. This is the second van I've built the first was a 6.0L and was blue on 22's. Everytime I look at my Dmax van I wish I hadn't sold it. I will build another, but right now it's not practical or necessiary for my needs. It was the best race or moto van I've ever had though.

I'm in Africa right now and the gov computer's won't let us access myspace so I don't know my profile link but you can search thru my email; boyd823@yahoo.com

The number 1 reason for detune is cooling issues. The is very little natural airflow over the engine with it crammed in the doghouse.

I used SPAL alarm, power windows, and locks. I think the website is spalusa.com they hooked me up with everything I needed. It isn't the easiest job in the world. Actually closer to the hardest. SPAL sells everything, or at least they did for me.

I see that the 09's are avaiable with power windows, locks and radio controls on the steering wheel.....sweet. The dash and guages are new as well.

Is this the LMM motor with DPF in the 09 vans?
