Bear with me as I'm new to diesel.I have a GMC 2500HD D/A and am going to Install a exhaust,I live in the desert so salt and that white stuff is not a problem. I tow a #4000 5er. Is the extra bucks for stainless worth it considering where I live? were talking about twice as much!!! If so Why? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. This is a great site but overwelming for a newbe when you only have dial up:D.......

If you live in the desert, aluminized is all you need. Stainless offers better corrosion resistance which you do not need. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

If you're where there's salt in the winter time. i'd go with Stainless.

go either aluminized for 304 stainless. DONT BUY the 409 stainless. It will still rust and look like crap, and its twice as much as aluminized.
So either go all out, or really cheap. 409 is worthless. My buddy's cheap aluminized 5" MBRP looks flawless, zero rust, and my MBRP 409ss duals are pretty much all brown. Not rusted through, its all surface tarnishing, but it still looks terrible.

T409 does get surface rust, but will NOT rust through. It is worth getting for the extra corrosion resistance and lifetime warranty. If you are picky about looks though, T304 is your only option.
