will it be ok to tow on this turbo?

AGGAR
11-26-2008, 10:37 PM
Sure would. How much weight? Tow with mine and no problems.

lc truck
11-26-2008, 10:43 PM
the most id tow would be around 18,000lbs. on a regular basis 11,000lbs compressors. is there alot a lag compared to the stock turbo?

AGGAR
11-26-2008, 10:46 PM
No. Lag is very minimal. As good as stock if not better.

i talked to brayden and he said my ppe hot 2 tuner would work fine. im guessing your using EFI Live. im not real comfortable using that just yet

AGGAR
11-26-2008, 11:10 PM
Yeah I've got efi. Brayden tuned it. I don't have my on V2 to change the tunes but it's down there waiting on me! It's basically like a stock turbo but with more air flow and some whistle.

11-26-2008, 11:12 PM
yeah im making the trip up there later in december.i live bout 3 hours from him. southern illinois. you notice your egts drop any?

AGGAR
11-26-2008, 11:15 PM
Changed the tuning from Hot+2 to efi when turbo changed so I can't tell you for sure.

lc truck
11-26-2008, 11:19 PM
so he just tuned your truck with efi for good? you just drive on that specific tune all the time

AGGAR
11-26-2008, 11:25 PM
Yeah he did and yes I do. But I'm getting the V2 Flashscan from him so I can Do some tweaking and also turn it back to stock for the dealer stuff. I always ran the Hot+2 on the 350 tune too.

11-26-2008, 11:33 PM
Cool. do you remember how much it cost for the turbo and install?

AGGAR
11-26-2008, 11:36 PM
Not off the top of my head. You'll have to ask Brayden.

Aggar have you dynoed your truck with the cheetah? Do you run a big tune for a daily driver? Also, what kind of EGT's do you show? I m wanting one of these things just cant get myself to pull the trigger on it. Thanks.

IC truck, Talk to Dan Grant at PPE, I think they can modify your 350 tune to comand more boost for the cheetah.

When I called PPE asking for them to pretty much do the same thing for me; they said that I didn't need to get it updated/ they wouldn't do it..

do the cheetahs come with a blow off valve?

do the cheetahs come with a blow off valve?

They're a VGT, so a BOV is not needed.

Not dynoed it yet. Always busy when the dyno days were taking place. Maybe later this winter. I'm running a pretty good tune. Guessing close to 530-540hp as my daily driving tune. Egt's depends. Just cruising around they'll stay under 800 unless I mash it then they'll go up. Most i see at WOT is about 1400. The turbo is a good one.

When I called PPE asking for them to pretty much do the same thing for me; they said that I didn't need to get it updated/ they wouldn't do it..I guess It's kind of a conflict of interest. They offer a modified VVT now and upgrade your HOT+2ET to command more boost to match the new turbo. I guess they dont want to modify your tuner to be able to use someone elses turbo.

Compare prices with Mark at Danville Performance before you buy. They are a vendor here. I just had mine converted to 64mm by Mark. Much cheaper than Fleece advertised price.

fleece advertised price is also installed. it soesnt state this on the website but i think that is how it goes. you guys should for sure switch to efi. you can run the ppe tunew but the problem with it is they command alot of vane position which means they run the vanes really closed. these turbos dont need that closed vane position and actually it is not good for them. the turbo has a very high flow wheel and actually make more boost at lower vane position. i put down 572 hp and 1179 tq. this was with a crap lift pump. these turbos have a lot of potential. i have had mine for a year and i love it

max i have never seen you down around that area before. i am from lawerncville and i am down there all the time. shoot me a pm and i will try to get with you on when i will be home again. maybe we can get together for a ride and some beer. aggar i am going to try to get up to danville next time i am down there to get some dyno time. i might just have a new cheetah to put on. :D maybe we could go at the same time if you arent busy. also to everyone else. brayden and chase are top notch guys and there are very few people that i will let work on my truck and they can put there hands on it anytime they want. they are kind of hard to get a hold of but be patient it is worth it. just becareful chase will sell you more stuff than you want. :D he is quite the sales man:cool:Aggar have you dynoed your truck with the cheetah? Hey brayden would it be ok to run the 68mm cheetah with the ppe hot2 programmer? will it hurt the turbo any?

beach_33
01-19-2009, 10:49 PM
it is not advised. they run way to much vane position for these turbos
