Don't know if anyone with TTT mirrors noticed or not, didn't see it in the few threads I scanned. They issued an update with regard to the marker light wiring. In the instructions, it advised you to tap the brown/wht wire on the back of the light switch to power the marker lights.

I was wiring in my gauges this weekend, looking in the book, and noticed that this is the dimming lead. I wondered about it, so today I went looking at their website before I called them. Found the update, opened it, and here's what it says:

There is no need to disassemble the vehicles dash for connection of the yellow clearance

light wire. If you attach the yellow wires as outlined in step 30, the mirrors clearance lights will

dim with your instrument panel dimmer switch.

I'm sure someone's already caught this, but thought I would post it for those that hadn't and those that are considering the TTTs. They have an easier install method outlined in their update.

Yeah we've discussed this to death in a couple of other threads. Guys have been finding other ways to wire the mirrors such as to the power for the cab clearance lights. The addendum to the instructions which calls for wiring to the yellow wire actually causes the mirror lights to light up whenever the truck is on.

I have gone so far as to email TTT and tell them what a good fix for it is. Tap into the cab clearance light pin in the ps fuse panel. Have received no response. Hopefully they will make that change to their instructions.

I already have 4 auto meter gauges hooked up to my dinner light. How much more draw can it take before it fries itself? I like sprintmod1's idea. I guess we could also hook up a relay with an isolator too?

I did the same thing, no response as of yet. the clearance light tap on the PS is really the best way.

Not to take credit here, but I believe the ORIGINAL idea came from ski1 to tap into that circuit. But it would be nice for TTT to change their instructions.

XR--I had done this temporarily for a week or so before Marc suggested the roof marker pin. I was having trouble with the gauge lights flickering dim and bright at night (at least that's when I noticed it). I changed it to Marc's idea and now my gauge lights work fine again.

The next thing I would like them to do is supply a nice stainless 1/16" thick 1" diameter washer to place between the door and the tiny nut they supply to help with the vibration problem. The door metal is just to thin on it's own to support that heavy mirror without flexing the door; especially at 75mph. I added the washers (6 of them) for about $.35, I think they could add them to the parts bag. over.

Where is the roof marker pin? Under the headliner?

Passenger Side Fuse Panel box. Just like the drivers side; pull the cover off; if you have the roof markers, it will be the brown wire coming out of the plug (6 pin/wire). If you don't have the roof markers, it will be on the bottom of the panel; it should be the middle pin (there should be three along the bottom in the center); test it with a light or multimeter and you should be good to go.

Just got the mirrors in the mail today. I had time to install the drivers side, I'll do pass side tomorrow. I got the heated, signal, marker:blahblah: ... I'm going to hook em up like you said. I'll get back tomorrow with the outcome.

I really like the way they look

Sprintmod1,

Thank you for the info. I installed mine this weekend and and everything was plug and play. No problems.
