Should I buy a 185,000 mile RC 4x4 LLY for 8500.00? Or run the other way? Truck is in fair condition from what I have been told. I'M looking for a truck with higher miles but not quite that high. My dad says it will be nothing but trouble, and to keep looking. If it was taken care of how much longer could it last? Just wanted to see what you guy's thought. Thanks J

It seems to be a decent price. If is well taken care of it will last a long time. 185k is not alot of miles for a diesel

X2 185k isn't alot at all considering this vehicle should last 400k if taken care of with proper maint. and a sharp eye to look for other wear items that need replacing such as the front hubs.
If you get it change every fluid & filter in the truck so you will have a starting point for your maint. schedule its cheap insurance!
if the price is right....

Ive got around 140k worth of hard miles now on my LLY and it is still running well. I don't know how fast its running since the speedo went out but it is running strong. Its had minor issues with the IFS and steering components and the Ally has a drop an hour leak but I really cant complain. Maintenance gets expensive but it pays off in the end. As much as I love my current truck I really am beginning to believe there is truth in the statement "they dont make them like they used to." My old '94 with a 350 and TBI held together remarkably well for 300,000 miles. The original tranny lasted til 280k and its still got the original engine. I rolled it down a mountain in Colorado a few years back and bought the DMAX to tow it back to Texas. Its got no windows and the roof is quite a bit lower but it still runs like a bat outa hell, but only down at the ranch now.

If your having steering issues maybe its time for a look at the Cognito Motorsports website. They seem to have these trucks figured out.
