So i finally got around to doing the ECM update for my truck since the dealership has been hassling me for so long to do it. Well now my DIC says to check both front tire pressures (they are both at 48 lbs. where they should be) and Im also throwing code 1448...But I have no DPF or anything. What do I do? Should I try updating my Quad? Im planning a 1,000 mile trip in the next day or two and don't wanna risk my truck acting up. :help2:

Odd...the ecm does not control the tire pressure monitor..the remote control door lock receiver does....

The factory default setting is definitely higher than that. IIRC, 60 front, 70 rear. I'm not real sure as I had the dealer turn 'em down to 50.

After the update to the ECM you should update your quad. Give that a try and see if it helps. I updated my quad before I ever put it on and haven't had a problem.

did you out your stock tune back in before the flash ?

I told him I had a programmer on it and he told me that he would take it off before he did the flash so im assuming (i know i should have done it myself) that it was taken care of. My tire pressure alerts are no longer popping up today though so who knows.. i will have to update my Quad and see how it goes from there.

No DPF then update the Quad. When the tech updated the ECM I doubt he cared about current ECM info. I think they copy it off first but not sure on that then upload stock new ECM programming.

If its below freezing, my stupid tire pressure light go off no matter how much air are in them. It pisses me off:mad:

I think the issue here is he left the tune loaded on the ECM and let them do the update...... not a good idea..... do some reading about your tuner or contact them direct and see what they say....

Never really thought about it hard but I think you are right leaving tune in the truck not a good idea with the. Now the tuner has the original stock old tune which will not restore do to OS change my guess. Would not be a good idea with the limited predifined tuners. Didn't bother me since I use EFILive. Just downloaded new OS stock tune and reprogrammed with modified scripted new OS tune and off i went.

i guess i dont understand.....if you have the quad why hve the update reflash? that means that the quad tune is gone need to have the tune reloaded back into the quad tuner then reinstalled back into truck....?

thats what i thought too but i kept getting told how i needed to have it done and i didnt find out until afterwards that i didnt need it since i dont have the DPF or any of that stuff and ever since i started having troubles with my truck. im now having "Engine Power is Reduced" popping up and its really limping bad and im getting DTC 2463. So now im totally lost as to what to do because they said that with the newest update (which i finally got loaded onto my quad) that it should get rid of the problem but it didnt help at all!

you are going to have to reflash the stock tune back into your truck.....and then start over again...with efi its only a matter of minutes.....do you know anyone with efi live??? just my suggestion....

how do i reflash the stock tune? i did the return to stock thing with my truck and then uploaded the new version onto my quad and then downloaded the 90 hp tune back into my truck. am i gonna need to go by my dealership? im 1000 miles away from them right now and will be here for awhile so if i do thats gonna suck! anyways i guess i might have to just go with efi even though i dont wanna shell out that much cash right now!

you really needed to pull the stock tune out before the reflash (as fire0021 asked earlier) back into the quad......other wise the quad wont understand what you are trying to do....you need to get a hold of quad asap to either fix your existing tuner or send you another so you can get up and running again...im sure this is not the first time they have ever heard of this.....
