I'm not sure what the exact verbage is, but...

With the Edge Juice / Attitude Combo you can adjust the fueling at low boost levels. It seems to me there is a significant difference between 1 (CARB Recommended) and 5 (most fun!).

What is the downside to running at the "5" level? I know it doesn't help the gas mileage, but does it hurt the truck / tranny?

Any help would be appreciated -- still trying to figure out all this stuff! It's too Censored addictive!

Thanks --

Jeff

You'll probably notice LBF being on 5 the most when you're in OD and you get behind some slow traffic - and the rpms drop to 1500 and then you lay your foot to it, and voila, I can see the tranny slipping. At higher RPMs it doesn't seem quite so easy, although I can, at will.

As with anything else, your foot is the biggest control. If you drive whupass all the time, yeah, having the HP and LBF turned up will accelerate your timeline to the ATS/SunCoast upgrades.

Makes more smoke with the LBF turned up!

briano, I think you are referring to the actual power level settings... low boost levels won't hurt the truck as much as the actual power settings. Take for instance, you run the juice in level 1/low boost level 5... the low boost is not going to do anything more harmful than what the juice level 1 is already doing. All the low boost does is give you more throttle response and smoke, it doesn't necessarily add any power, it just displaces the power at lower RPM's.

I knew what you meant, but I wanted to make sure other people didn't get confused.

AND, if you "get on the throttle" and see slip - it's because your accelerator pedal position value has probably kicked the torque convertor out of lock - not because you are overpowering the tranny!

so what is the best level for power and boost to run the edge on?

I am currently running level 2 and level 3 for boost

Loaded question only YOU can answer.

Higher # low boost fueling for more response. and ( IMO )power level 2-3 is safe 4-5 is FUN for occasional blasts. I ran mine on LB 5 and power level 4-5 (defuel all shifts) always for a year driving hard and no problems at all. I am going to a better trans now so I can race the truck once and a while with more tuners and still be able to tow my 7500lb trailer home with confidence. The original tranny still runs as new. Just changed the filter on the allison and nothing smelled burnt or anything.
Do a search on edge power level posts and make your own decision. Good Luck

Lifted, I have run juice level 3/low boost level 1 for quite awhile now and it seems to be the most efficient setup, as I suggested in another thread. Not all trucks are the same, but some other folks are trying this 3/1 combo and seeing if it works on their trucks. Your right foot plays a more important role in fuel mileage though. Try the 3/1 setup and see how it works.

Nope. Locked. It's overdrive that's the issue, not the other gears.

For us dummies, there's a little "lock" icon that shows up if you set up the Attitude to display the current gear.

I run the Juice on level 3 low boost 1 driving daily and level 2 boost 1 towing.

The reason for the low boost was for shifting; the transmission wouldn't slip as easy. This was in a lot of posts if you do a search. Mine shifts smooth.
