I've drag raced my 454SS truck for years and was usually happy in the 1.7x time for 60's. I never expected to drag race my LB7, but I find myself at the track. My mods are in my sig, and I also have the cognito bars. With the current unperfected tuning I'm running 7.9x's in the 1/8th with 60 foot times around 2.2x - 2.3x. That's with a 20 psi boosted launch. I tried coming off the line without boosting first and the lag slowed my 60.
Should I ditch the cognito bars and go with cal-tracs? I've run caltracs on my 454SS truck for about 5 years with great results and I have them on my 72 nova.

I think it has more to do with your lift and tire pressure. I heard your truck almost jumped/bounced across the track during your launch(s). Did your rear tires spin?

How are you set up? Did you turn the torsion bars down? What was your tire psi set at? Even with 35's, you should be able to cut a 1.8-1.9 light. Those cognito traction bars are good, nothing wrong with them at all.

Yes, I had the torsion bars cranked pretty far down. It looked like a stinkbug, and that's weird looking on a 7" lifted truck. I can't remember if we had the pressure at 35 or 40 psi. And the rear tires did spin. I also have an eaton e-locker up front.
Dix, my first launch was on the new engine, locker, bars, basically everything. I had no clue what it was going to do, and it jumped all over the place. Scared me and everyone else at the track!
I did try rolling into the throttle in 2wd at the track and ended up spinning the whole way down. That was just for fun though.

If your t-bar bolts weren't all the way out, then it's not far enough. Try, lowering your tire pressure down to around 28 in the front and 22 in the rear and see what it does from there.
Whats done to the motor?

if your starting in 1st, 20psi is way too much

The crank and cam are stock. That is all that's left :D
I'll trailer it next time and try the lower tire pressure. I had to drive it an hour one way each time I went to the track.

Nice, that thing is going to run wicked fast.

We shall see. The second turbo is going to grenade my transmission.

I don't think the front locker is helping you any it might be making it harder to control

I think with what you have currently for turbo/motor in that truck it is going to be hard for you without some sort of slicks or drag radials @ 7" of lift. The twins may calm it down with tuning when you receive them.
Just be careful with lowering your tire pressure too low on such a big truck with that kind of torque and those huge bumpers!
Let me know when you hit the track next.

t-bars need to be lower and as stated 20 psi is way to much to launch with at least for my truck i cant go much past 14 psi boost or i will light up front and rear, your 1/8 time is great for that 60ft time you ot to be low 12's at least if you can get it to hook , i would say less pressure, either clamp the springs or get some caltracs and start at 10 psi boost and work up till your times get slower . with open front and rear diffs my times are not great but i'm getting 1.8's with poor track prep .

The second turbo will definitely help out!
