Ok I'm slowly addressing the lose of prime issues I'm having, and I started with a new WIF sensor (plus I wanted to have a backup one).

I do not have the special wrench from merchant, but I was very careful tightening the new one. I noticed that on both the old one that I took off and the new one on, that I can still see some of the o-ring in a gap from the bottom of the filter edge to the WIF edge of prolly .020". Is this normal? How tight are you guys getting these?

Yes sounds normal- it is a thick oring and it should not bottom-out. :)

OK, that's what I was thinking, but didn't know if using the special wrench would yield better results.

a adjustible works fine, just have the feel for not stripping the threads. but, i just bought a WIF wrench because i kept slipping off the WIF, they work nice.

WIF tool does not ruin the edges of the sensor. Buy the tool, you and your WIF sensor will be happier!

Yep - A WIF wrench for the WIF - and KD Push Pin Pliers for those wheel well fasteners. Actually I don't mine those funky plastic fasteners, easy out and easy in with the right tools.........

how much does a WIF sensor go for i broke a little piece off of mine doing a filter swap on the side of the highway is DC. it is still working but i want to replace it before i have any more problems.

my fuel filter is also leaking from around the top every once in awhile which cause the system to lose a prime and piss me off! anyone else ever have this happen. do i need a new mount or something?
