Some of you may remember that a couple of weeks ago I posted that the bullet on the end of my engine oil dipstick pulled off in the rag I was wiping it with.
I had been waiting since then for a new stick under warranty claim. Called every couple of days to check, was told it would be shipped direct from engine plant at first.
There must be a difference between '03 LB7 and LLY, as no dipstick was available and I was told this past Mon. that I had to wait till May 24 for a dipstick.
Well, I lost my cool on that and proceeded to insult the whole chain of people from here to Detroit on the phone.Told them I was watching the oil pressure gauge as closely as possible. But I would in no uncertain terms hold GM responsible if I lost an engine due to lack of oil.
Today they had a new dipstick for me.:ro)

Sometimes you have to speak up, looks like it worked in your case. Some of these people are hard hearing, they must have warranty issues with there hearing aids!!

Thankful

I agree Scott. Some of these service advisors blow way more smoke than my truck's exhaust.

Good work.

I know that the '01 dipsticks are different than the '04s, so I assume it is an LLY vs. LB7 thing?

My dealer would have gone out on the lot and pulled one out of a new vehicle before telling me that. Later! Frank
