I have a Autometer Z series 0 - 15 psi electric gauge and I'm going to use it to monitor my fuel filters (stock and my Racor 445).
I was thinking that if I put it in between my Racor and stock filter I could use one gauge to monitor both. If pressure is lower Racor is plugged, if pressure is high my stock one is plugged (I realize that if the OPS or the Lift-pump quit it would look like the Racor is plugged).
Is my reasonning sound?
What do you all think?

Im not sure if the pressure would go high?
Im doing something similar, but getting a set of 2 gauges..one for each side of the 2 filters. i hear thats how bigger trucks do it, so you can see the difference in the 2 gauges at any time.
Since if you put it on the outlet of the last filter, you wouldnt know which is clogged..

Which is why I went vac switch route 1 on each filter set for 7" a little more expensive that route, $28 each switch IIRC, but simple monitoring LED comes on when blocked, I still have gage to moinitor lift pump is supplying fuel at inlet to IP, mechanical auto zone 1" el cheapo for now, but will go electric later for uniformity of gage/meter apearances

I wonder if I could use a switch and two sending units???

No; the vac/filter restriction going up across the switch pulls in the contact at 7" vac to complete the circuit so 1 per filt is required.

I use a cheap oil pressure switch and an idiot light. Low fuel pressure > light comes on. Simple and very effective. Matter of fact BD-Power stole my Idea and they are currently selling it on the Cummins 24 valve. I told A guy on their forum how to do it and a month later they where marketing it. They denied it but I showed them the post and date.
