Well, I made my first trip with the 13k 5th wheel and the Edge.

Made it from SF Bay Area to and over the Tehachapi Pass (significant grade) just fine. Boost about 18, EGT up to but not over 1300, engine and tranny temp just fine.

Then when going up a minor hill near Barstow, I throw an SES.

A while later I got to the famous Baker Grade (25 miles of 6-7% grade), again 16-18 boost, 1250 EGT, tranny 205, engine 210.

I once heard that some auto supply stores have a scanner and will read/reset the codes. Is that true??

The SES is NOT blinking so I understand that it is not a serious code.

Any ideas???

yes Autozone and most others will scan and clear for free. find out what the code is first then go from there.

I'm in Las Vegas for a week to visit a granddaughter, oh and the parents.

Quick reply: their website shows Carson City, Reno or Sparks, Nevada for Autozone. You could also try NAPA, Pep Boys or Advance/Discount Auto Parts by looking through the local yellow pages.:confused:

Did you disconnect your EGR? I see your from CA, throwing codes is common. Sounds like your truck handled those grades pretty well. Your boost levels were not too high, likely you would have seen much higher EGT's and engine/tranny temps at higher boost.:rolleyes:

Update.

Went out this am to go shopping, started the truck and bang, NO SES.

Huh, that doesn't make sense.

Have ordered an Actron cr1945, at least if it happens again I will be able to check the codes.
