Since I have been playing the the Predator it seems that the truck shifts around 3300 rpms. It would seem to me that the truck would pull harder if it shifter earlier. I thought these trucks make peak torque around 1700 and peak HP at 2500. It seems like the truck noses over in power when it shifts at redline. Anyone else experience the same?? If so is there a way to control the WOT shift point??

How long have you had the predator installed?

For a good month or so. Truck runs great but you would think it would pull harder keeping the motor in the meat of the power band.

well look at it this way. if it shifts at 3300 when it goes in to the next gear its already in its power band. also from doing my dyno run i noticed peak torque is right after the shift. so it shifting at the higher rpm's is a better thing i would think.

ive got predator on 85 and mine shifts at about 3300 too. I feel quite a bit of slipping, enough to scare me. but once the converter locks up its go time.

A friend of mine who owns a commercial diesel shop told me the LLY is a high reving motor for a diesel. I guess 3300 is not crazy for an LLY.

It just seems to me that the motors make peak torque around 1800 and peak horsepower at 2500. I would like to see the truck shifting just past peak HP and fall back to peak torque. That's how we set up cars at the track.
