My boss changed the fuel filter in his dads LMM and couldn't find his filter wrench so he removed it with a pair of channel locks...well all was fine until they started the truck to back it out of the shop....he had broken a plastic t on the inj..... so today I fabed up a spaced for mine and will make a couple more for the other Dmax's at work.... I'll post up a couple of pics later...

I picked up 6 (enough to do three trucks) 8MMx20 bolts 45 MM long I think.... and stopped by a fab/ repair shop and picked up a piece of steel that was just wide enough for the spacer and it measured just shy of 3/4" thick I removed the plastic air intake and then the fuel filter housing (after unplugging the WIF sensor and fuel heater) I then traced a pattern onto the plate, drilled the two holes , cleaned it up with a flap wheel on my grinder painted it, installed a new filter and reassembled...sorry no progress pics as I was doing various other things in the shop at the same time.... If anyone would like one I will have some plate left over after making the ones we need for our trucks just let me know....and it comes in any color you'd like as long as you like black :D

So you don't brake the plastic t off of the inj. behind the filter and have your truck setting for three days waiting for the part

Gives you some extra room around the fuel filter.

Your an inventor and didn't know it.

Never noticed the filter was close to breakables. But then I don't attack mine with huge channel locks! :)
