How much are the Tie-rod sleeves from S.D.??? Will they fit over Moogs, or, just the factory tie-rods?

Hi guys,

I am not sure, what is the sleeve for? are ties week there? thanksThe thread that started it all:

Start reading....SD explains it pretty well. Yes, the tie rods are a weak link.....sad to say. For stock applications, they're fine.

But, if you're running big tires, or offroading a lot, or you like to drag race (4x4 boosted launches) you should buy a set. I myself need to order some.....(yeah, I know, I know  )

Hey, SD, how'd ya like that plug? Unpaid endorsement, naturally.

So, looks like the rest of the suspension was well protected by the early failure of the "weak tie rod", huh?

That is my crooked truck. It was fun until the truck wouldn't steer or stop, just kept sliding to the right.Scary. After I get the alignment, I will have spent twice what the sleeves cost.

They are very weak there. I have had folks tell me about how they were 4WDin through a muddy field and bent them. Another one hit a curb at a bad angle and bent it:eek: ! I tested and developed them on my 4D 4WD doolie on the track and pulling huge contractors dumpsters across fields (that was interesting). I have dumped some massive torque to them in launches (you wouldn't believe how much), and have not had any failures. I am very proude to be apart of making these trucks just a little better. Thanks to all who have supported this effort. All you great folks are who make this possible. I just can't say "THANK YOU" enough.
