my friend has a 2002 3500 lb7,engine light came on,these two codes came up-is this the faulty fuel rail system thing or just regular normal probs? dealer says he needs to use his extended warranty and gm wont cover it....is it bs or what? thanks in advance for any input.-michael:confused:

p0380 is for Glow plug relay, should be replaced under emissions warranty. (80K) and a reputable dealer would do it under engine warranty (100k)
this is what set the Check Engine light, will continue to illuminate until relay is replaced.

P1093 code, fuel flow low during power enrighment ( if I remember this correctly ) not enough fuel getting to the injecton pump to maintain pressures, Ideally, a quick check with the shop vacuum gauge would tell you that the suction on fuel system is too high ( restricted ) and the filter needs to be replaced. If the gauge reading is in the normal range, you need to have the actual fuel pressure ( requiring Tech2 ) checked while engine running, would indicate a possible injector/injection pump condition. If it is the filter, this is your dime.

kevin:filter was changed less than 2000 miles ago!-does that matter?,or do they need to replace it to make sure?-michael

See if the Glow plug relay box has 12v to the big red cable bolted to it. If not, the 175amp fuse is blown.

The p1093 is the only one that could be related, but generally you would have a p0093 with it. Or Hard start, stalling, fuel in the oil type of stuff. Or it can also be caused by restricted fuel filter, gel, frozen water or any other fuel restriction, or lack of fuel.
