That's basically what I'm using, takes some significant chopping in the rad support to fit, but I basically put it where the A/C condenser used to be. The size does create some turbo lag, however, so it's only good if you do a lot of heavy towing.

do you need to loose the a/c condenser?my traileris a 32 footer so i need it

What I did was re-mount the condenser on the outside of the metal wall behind that little center bracket (takes some chopping and welding) then you have to lose the safety hook on the hood and use pins.

I'll put some pictures up ;)

can you still use the hood latch?

The main latch works just fine (the one that pops when you pull the handle), it's just the big hook that sticks down through the top of the rad support that has to be eliminated.

so i am thinking a hood cable from a big truck and a clip for a saftey cable

Hi at what pressure do you have your turbo ?
why i ask , because i haave both . dodge ram with a Cummins and a Sylverado 6.5TD bank's kit .

my dodge push 45 psi at the turbo so yes i do need cooling but my 6.5 push only 5-6 psi and at those pressure your air will never heat under 10 psi you won't feel the powaaaaaaaa . and yes my PU is build to pull 30' trailer with 5th weel.air suspersion and all the accessories .

Apparently radiators vary somewhat in actual dimensions, because the radiator that was in my truck before was a little too wide to fit between them arms, but I recently pulled a rad from an '87 6.2 one ton at the wreckers that was in beautiful shape and fit perfectly. Might have been a recore that got the tanks pushed on a little farther or something, I don't know. I believe the stock 6.5 rad from the NBS trucks is pretty well the exact same size, at least the older ones with the metal tanks, and should fit as well.

When chopping and welding you want to be sure you center the I/C on the original rad mounts, makes things really simple when you install the rad and fan shroud, it all falls right into place.

is that a s10 a/c box?

I'm running 12psi max boost right now with a stock GM-3 turbo. I have head studs installed, so once I get a better turbo I plan to start at 25psi and crank it up from there until something pops.

Yes, that is an S-10 air box. It is a MAJOR pain in the neck to mate up to the stock interior box, I still don't have everything sealed the way it should be. When I have a little time I want to experiment with an early '90's duct system, so it's all inside except the can. That'll free up more space under the hood too . . .

does it cover the holes in the firewall?

BustedWrench, is that a Hummer intake?

looks like a 6.5 with the air horn on backwards

how would you rate the power? like a big block mabey?

DWitcher

More like a stock small block with better fuel mileage.

I cut a section out of the S-10 firewall and welded it into the truck firewall so that the outside box would mount up easily. Still not sure it was the best way to go.

The upper intake plenum is a stock non-EGR 6.5 unit that's had about four inches of the tube cut off and then been rotated 180 degrees.

As for power-- it's in an 8000 pound truck, it ain't no race car. However, I've towed up to 11K easily, and it still has a 6.2 J-code pump on it. Also, with the 5-speed it feels more powerful than my '89 V3500 CC DRW with a brand new TBI454/TH400/4.10 gears. Maybe not faster, but hauls way easier.

Hard to define power for a different butt dyno . . .:D

why is it not the best way to go on the a/c?
