A friend of mine has an '07 GMC Sierra 5.3 liter gas and was wondering if anyone has used EFI live on a gas truck and what the increase in gas mileage and power was? Was it worth it?
Thanks

Different motor but yes its well worth it. Take all the TM off and bump up timing tables and run high test and you will see noticeable gains. I went from 11-12 freeway to 16.4. In town I tow alot so I dont even check. Power is better than gas mileage anyday IMO.

I have not done it personally but i have read about other people that have. From what i have heard it is deffiantly worth it. The difference is big, with the torque managment taken out(or close to) the seat of the pants feel is amazing. MPG gain all depends on how you drive it and how it is tuned, but i think 2-3 is not far from the truth. As soon as i get a new truck this will be the first thing i do. Tell your friend to do it, it is worth it.

i also know someone with the GMPP cai and he said he could tell a difference, small, but still a difference. Plus the nice thing about going with GMPP is warrenty work will not be affected.

So how did the tuning turn out for you? I know its kinda soon but what gains have you noticed?

a custom tune will do a lot for your gasser...now will you see huge hp gains like a diesel, no...but if you do supporting mods like long tube headers, CAI, exhaust...cam, you'll have around 80hp over stock...theres where Im at roughly...i know for me it put the fun back into drivin my truck, i was able to pass people w/o problems and throttle response was a lot better...i would HIGHLY suggest getting a tune for a gasser

Im gunna have my tuner tune my 2008 hd with the 6.0. I tow about 7500lbs would removing torque management hurt anything?
