I have a '03 2500 crew 4x4. got a code today of PO335 - crankshaft sensor. Anybody seen this before? Do you think it is a sign of a larger issue or just a sensor gone bad. truck has the LB7 motor, 62,225 miles. I think it may have been programed at one time, however now it is stock. Just bought the truck a couple of weeks ago, first diesel. mechanic is looking for the part for me, will let me know in the morning. Any idea of the cost of this little beauty??
Thanks

Any mods on your truck?
I was having No-Start and stalling issues about six times in two weeks on my 02, with codes.
Went to local garage and the had some CPS codes and they replaced the sensor.
Problems soon continued. Kennedy recommended removing my 2 1/2 Juice Box. When I did, the problems were gone.
Cost $100 for sensor and $50 labor. Still have the old sensor, it's probably good.

No current mods to motor. Bought truck a few weeks ago, it does have a gouge clusters, so may have been programed at on time. Had it checked out right after i bought and it is currently running the stock program.
Is the warranty transferrable on those motors?? If it is then I'll take it to the dealer, guess I'll call them today and find out.
Just for the record:
I love my D/MAX!!!!!! And I really appreciate the help, nice to have a place to go to with questions.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
The customer concern will be described as a rough idle, SES light, unstable idle, hesitation, surge or stalling. The vehicle may have DTCs P0300, P0335 or P0336.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Complete current SI diagnostics for any duplicated symptoms or DTCs set. If diagnostics are inconclusive, monitor the injector balance rates. If the injector balance rates are high or fluctuating on random cylinders (not staying on one specific cylinder), check for a loose crankshaft sensor reluctor.
To inspect the crankshaft sensor reluctor, remove the right inner fender, the crank sensor, and the crank sensor spacer. Use a blunt probe and try to move reluctor clockwise or counter clockwise. If the crankshaft reluctor is found loose, repair by it replacing any necessary parts. Be sure to install new crank reluctor to oil pump drive gear (knock pins) alignment pins. See SI repair instructions for Crankshaft Reluctor and Oil Pump Drive Gear Replacement.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
