What year/model did GM start using VGT's on the Duramax? Is it the 04's, 04.5's, or 05's?

I am no expert but from what I understand the VGT was added to the LLY engine which is concidered '04.5.

There are about 10 different names for that Turbo, VGT is the industry standard.

VGT= Variable Geometry Trubo

VNT= Variable Nozzle Turbo

VATN= Variable Area Turbine Nozzle

VVT= Variable Vane Turbo



Same as Tomato/Tomato
