A while back I saw a post here that some one installed a spin-on type of fuel filter. Now I cant seem to find that post. I have a filter that would be great and it was free. But I wanted to find that post to see if it was installed before or after the lift pump. I just replaced my lift pump. And wondered if pulling fuel through a filter would kill the pump. Most likley there would be fewer pumping problems if it were after the pump. But if the pump would live while pulling fuel through the filter The pump would have clean fuel to pump. Iam just looking to prefilter the fuel and still leave the oe filter also.

I installed one a couple of weeks back, took some pics and posted them. I posted under "fuel systems" Aux filter for 6.5.

Pre pump seems to work well, the fuel system is usually in a siphon to the inlet of the fuel pump anyways so as long as you check it from time to time it not that much extra resistance.

Good tip: install a ball valve at the inlet of the filter head (it makes changing it a lot cleaner / easier).

nice install. I have the ex cab but have already rented that space. I have a 3rd trans cooler and an air bag compressor there. Maybe when I up grade the compressor I will find a new home for it.
