Does anyone have a factory or aftermarket sunroof option? I wanting to have a aftermarket sunroof installed, but Im concerned about wind/engine noise. Any feedback/comments would be appreicated.

I picked up my truck on wed of last week and dropped it off this morning for an after market sun roof. The place I took it to does very good quality work looks better than the new factory ones with the vented sun shade. The place I took mine to does all of the local dealers aftermarket roofs and does the Katskin aftermarket leather (very nice).

I've got the factory power sunroof. Does not leak in the high pressure touchless carwash, and no wind noise whatsoever. She's tight as a drum.

Does anybody know if you can put a sunroof into a CC with a factory installed DVD.

Yes you can have both the stock DVD and the sunroof. Almost bought that one.

I have the factory sunroof in mine and it works great. No additional noise. I'm not crazy about the sunshade, but I hardly ever use it so it's no big deal.

Hopefully I will pick uop the truck today. I don't know who makes the roof but I can ask. This is also the second roof I have had installed by this company. I will try to post pics when I get it and if I figure it out.

It is a little bit of a drive, but Call Erickson Auto trim in Racine, WI.
They did the seats in Katskin (sp) and a Hilandia(sp) Moonroof. Both installs were perfect. Their reputation is stellar. If nothing else they may know of an installer in your area.

Yeah, we need pics! What does the headliner look like after the install? Did they install a new headliner or hack the old one?

Webasto is pretty much the best out there. I'm having one installed next month and paying right at $1,000. I called four seperate places within 300 miles of me and they were all within $100.

The aftermarket ones have a few more features (as is usually the case). One button tilt, auto close with rain or key off, etc.

I'm having mine installed by the same chain that did the attached pic install. Custom Soft Trims. Asked for recommendations from around 10 different people that had them and all but one had it done at a branch of this chain.

I REALLY like how it retracts INTO the roof instead of ON TOP of the roof... nice :cool:

With mine, when all windows closed and sunroof open, around 40MPH there is a wind vibration that raddels your ears. Just crack a rear window and its gone. That is the ONLY complaint. But its not hard to crack the rear window.

My aftermarket sunroof has a feature that does not do that with all of the windows up. Tap the button once and the roof opens 3/4 of the way to keep it from vibrating. I started this post several weeks ago. Today I finally got my sunroof installed. The install looks great, but now I need a shorter overhead console. The installer moved my console 2-3" forward to make room for the sunroof and Im not 100% pleased with the looks. Has anyone had this issue? What consoles will fit and look good???

dad311. A console from a Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban with a sunroof should fit great.
