: Fuel Economy - Edge Level 3 on Lvl 1 Low Boost
chuntag95 03-22-2005, 12:19 PM I just wanted to say :thankyou2 to whoever it was that suggested these Attitude settings. I just did a trip from Dallas to New Orleans and got 19.99 on the way down and 20.09 on the way back. That was with the cruise nailed down on 70, hand calculated and filled to the neck on all tanks for accuracy. Got almost 500 miles out of that 26 gallon tank, which was a first for sure.
I had one tank about 2 years ago that was 22, but never got over 19 since. I did a trip to Kansas City and got 18.7 (70 mph) and almost 19 (68 mph) back at Thanksgiving on low boost fuel level 2 and running on level 3 and 5. So the brainiac that figured out the low boost setting made the most mpg differece, I :hail: to you.
I do have the Predator on "stock" for speedo correction and speed limiter removal. ;)
HD-Nate 03-22-2005, 02:04 PM Hmmm, interesting.

I have been running on level 1 the last few weeks to see if it increased my mileage.

It did not so I put it back to level 4, just controlling my lead foot seems to help just as much.

I’ll have to try the 3/1 concept.
Lennox69 03-22-2005, 02:07 PM i think location has something to do with it...
StraitDiesel 03-22-2005, 05:02 PM I often run on level 3, low boost 1 and I have seen good results with that setup. The best mileage I have had is 19.6MPG, but that is a combination of city/highway... I rarely ever get a chance to run only highway miles to see what kind of mileage I could get... but, in my book, 19.6MPG city/highway driving is exceptional! It also has a lot to do with your right foot.

I am trying this tank of city driving on the 3/1 to see what I get as I have been running on 5/2 and getting around 15 for "pure" city. If I could gain a mpg that would :ro) .
briano 03-23-2005, 11:14 AM interesting..I may try this on my next tank. I also run Level 1 only and the only improvement in mileage I got was switching to Chevron fuel.

Hey Chuntag,
I tried to find the thread that suggested this but could not locate it. What do you mean by "level 1 low boost"?
StraitDiesel 03-23-2005, 01:45 PM flivver,
If you have the juice/attitude, go to juice configuration and select low boost, there will be 5 setting, select level 1 and exit to main display.

chuntag95 03-23-2005, 03:15 PM What StraitDiesel said. When I read about it, I had to look myself. I was on default, level 2 (CARB) and just playing with the power levels, not the low boost fuel levels. I think it is for the amount of smoke when you floor it or something like that.
StraitDiesel 03-23-2005, 06:51 PM Actually, the low boost levels will give you better initial throtte response before the turbo spools up. If you experiment and put it in level 5 low boost, you will notice that throttle response is much quicker. I run level 1 mostly because it makes driving more tolerable when you hit the throttle, level 5 seems to be too jerky. Level 5 will also provide more smoke.

flivver 03-23-2005, 10:21 PM Thanks for the info Straitdiesel and Chuntag!
redneck45 03-24-2005, 08:17 AM I have been running level 3 low boost 5 since installed and regularly get just a hair under 20mpg on trips cruise set at 70mph. Any higher speeds and the mileage drops off quickly.
Liftedhdrado 03-24-2005, 10:03 AM I am running it on level 2 or sometimes 3 and level 3 for boost. I mainly drive in the city so I dont get good mileage plus it doesn't help out that i have a heavy foot if yah know what I mean.
Idle_Chatter 03-24-2005, 11:25 AM I just checked my low boost setting this morning. I was running on 4. I was wondering why my highway mileage is still in the 18 to 19 range and I was consistently getting 16 to 17 on my local commuting. I've been running the Juice on level 3 for some time now, thanks to "The Place" I'm also a convert to the 3/1 Club and looking forward to an improvement in my non-highway mileage!
StraitDiesel 03-24-2005, 04:23 PM Tom, you should see improvement, I've been running it for a long time and my mileage seems excellent with that setup.
