My lil brothers GMC didnt come with cab lights. We where looking on recons site and they say that the come with everthing needed to install on a truck with out lights. My question is all we will have to do is drill and wire up the lights to the factor harness that i assume is under the headliner? Question 2 is he doesnt want leaks anyone install them with any good tips on how to prevent leaking?

the harness is usually tucked in the a pillar, but i did do one 04 that had it above the headliner. far as leaks, just don't overtighten and they will be fine. you could also put a dab of silicon on the screw's thread, and a thin bead under the gaskets.

My truck DID NOT have any wiring for the cab lights anywhere.....I bought the harness that plugged into the block in the dash and ran it up the A-pillar and over the headliner myself

I was gonna do that but...........it would have ended up like quite a few of my projects and "i'd get around to it sometime" :rolleyes:

its pretty simple process to build it from what i hear

my truck didn't have any harness...had to run a power wire from the pass. side fuse box next to the door, and tap each light into that power wire. I dipped the screws in sealant, and i put a bead of silicone between the gasket and the truck, and between the gasket and the light. Just make sure to open your first beer after you measure the distances between the lights!!!
