I know I should buy a manual. This tranny problem snuck up on me and drained my funds so for this one time can anyone give me the torque specs on"

Tranny to Engine
Torque Converter to flex plate

I have a generic torque chart, but on occasion I break bolts using it and all of the above are in a bear of a spot to repair!!

Manual says: Flywheel to Convertor - 44 N.M, 33 Ft. Lbs. Transmission case to engine - Same as above. Personally, I run the case bolts in snug with an impact gun and the convertor bolts, I use an air ratchet and then pull them snug while holding the flexplate with a flywheel-turning tool.

I think you need a good torque wrench. The bolts should not be breaking if you used the correct torque. I always use new bolts when I install a flex plate or fly wheel. And don't forget to put in a new pilot bearing. Personally, I don't use the roller bearing that is standard for the 6.2L engine. I use a bronze bearing made for the 350 gas engine.

The torqu wrench is a mac, seems to be good, but on some of the smaller stuff I have followed the generic chart only to find later that the chart showed to high of a torqu rating for that diamiter bolt. I have broken off a few of the smaller ones. I have never had trouble usiong the settings out of any manual just that paticular chart. I just don't trust it anymore.

I copied it out of my first copy of the Machinist handbook. I have a new one I need to compare the old to the new.

Torque converter does not have a replaceable pilot berring does it?? I am not very automatic literate. this is the only vehicle I own with an auto in it.

Correct, the automatic convertor hub fits into a recess in the crankshaft flange. Be sure to apply grease to the convertor hub before installing it into the crank recess. I've had nasty "squeaks" from them and had to remove the cover and spray lube up between the flexplate and the convertor to eliminate it.

Most cranks have a manual trans pilot bushing in them. Some don't, just depends. All the cranks I remember looking at have had the pilot bushing hole, fully machined. It's just not used with the automatic convertor.
