Usually its because the clear coat hasn't fully cured. Even after the initial curing is done, its still "soft" for like 2 months, at least that's what the guy who I buy my paint from tells me.

Actually closer to 90 days depending on paint manufacturer. Dont wax any new paint for 90 days is best.

Urethane enamel is better for painting black vehicles IMO. It won't show the scratches as much and is almost as durable as bc/cc. When clear gets scratched it's white scratch on black background. If Urethane gets scratched you really won't see them unless they're really deep. Easy to polish also.

Urethane is used quite abit. Alot of show cars are done in it to. My buddy got his cap done in black urethane enamel. The cap still looks like the day it came out of the paint shop a year later.

How bads your truck that you need to paint the whole thing. Scratches that don't go to the basecoat can be polished out no problem. Any dents and deep scratches you can get just those panels painted. But yeah the prep work for the urethane enamel is same as bc/cc. Also make sure the body shop is using a quailty paint supplier and if you don't know them make sure it's urethane enamel and not a cheaper line like acrylic or synthetic enamel that goes on your rig.
