I just put Super Diesel's lly intake manifold in and it's a very nice piece. The old boot had some oil buildup in it. Is this a problem or is it normal? Will be adding propane shortly.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

oil in the intake is normal. PCV is hooked up to intake side of turbo and will leave risidual oil film in the aft part of the turbo. check any turbo diesel that have aftercoolers and u will see residual oil all through the tubes from turbo to intake manifold ports on the head.

Where do you purchase the Super Diesel's lly intake manifold.
Thanks Steve

Thanks for the info hotrent1. If my boost gauge tap is between SD's manifold and the engine, when I inject propane will it get into my boost gauge? Should I plug my current tap and put the boost gauge on SD's manifold?

Got mine today too!! EXCELLENT quality, I'm very pleased with it.
Quick question though, the plugs, they currently do not have any sealer or teflon on them, will it leak or does it need to be sealed for use? I am asking because I just hooked up my autometer boost gauge, and it registers 0 all times except when I'm romping on the pedal, then it spikes then goes back to 0 psi. FYI, I have a 60 PSI gauge if that matters..

cid',

Iv'e had mine for a couple of months now, no sealer needed on the plugs, teflon tape on the boost fitting. No leaks so far. I have almost the same respatory system as yours except mine does not have duals. I don't show much boost until the engine is under a load, It holds at 5 or 6 psi. cruising at 75 to 80 mph. which I think is normal. It spikes between 25 and 30 psi. when I punch it. My gauge is only 35 psi.

John at DPS also carries the SD manifolds. He has answered all of my many questions in the seemingly endless quest to make my truck the way I want it.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, cruising even at 80-90mph, it shows 0 boost unless I hear the turbo spool up. Justnot sure if this is the correct behavior, as I watch the attitude righit beside it post 5-6PSI boost at cruise speeds..

Mine is also a 60 psi responds just like yours I think the 5-6 range of the 60 psi gauge is to low for the gauge to register while cruising, I get similar spikes to 20-27 psi and than sitting on 0 most of the time, If I really watch the gauge under slight acceleration it does move some but you really have to look at it and that causes problems when trying to watch the road):h

jnieberlein,

Spoke with John at DPS, and he mentioned that it SHOULD register even the 5-6PSI I think it may have been the way I plummed it..

The plugs are brass and the manifold is aluminum. You can put on tape or sealer if it is deamed necessary. None is really needed though. Make shure all the plugs are snug. They should all be tight when leaving here though.
