I just finished mine. It sucked pretty bad. Just wondering who else has put themselves through this...

I got the nuts to come loose without much trouble. I ended up loosening the transmission dipstick tube to give myself more room back there. I could not get the plate to slide in once the EGR pipe was loose.

I must have messed with it for a couple of hours. I ended up trimming a little piece of it off where it reaches around the lower stud. That little end piece was keeping it from sliding into place. Went right in after that. I figured it would be easier than taking the stud out.

Before I trimmed the plate I had gotten it stuck so many times that I started worrying about the gasket, but the gasket seemed pretty tough. I drove the truck around after and all is well. Not leaking that I can see at least.

In summary, I had to loosen trans tube and trim blocker plate a bit. How did you get yours done?

So you know the little piece I'm talking about that needs to be trimmed? :)

If the blocker plate was made in such a way that it could drop straight down from the top rather than in from the side it probably wouldn't need any trimming at all.

I stuck a pry bar through the fender well and pryed it open a little and then put the plate in

X2 on having to round off the edges of the slots where the studs go. Would have went a lot faster if I knew that at the start.

i think i am having the same problem right now, i have it installed i think, but i cant get the bottom plate in fully around the stud. From the top the plate sticks over the metal gasket about a couple cm's and i am thinking about just leaving it like that as I have tried everything and cant get it any lower to sit flush, not sure if it was designed to or not?
