Can anyone tell me where the oil cooler bypass tube is located and what it is.

Dealer is recommending that the water pump and oil cooler bypass tube be replaced as there is small amount of collent leaking. I can see the results of the leak and it appears to be coming from around where the lower radiator hose is attached to the block which woudl be very close to the water pump. I am not sure where to look for the oil coler bypass tube.

any help would be appreciated.

If you look on the driver side of the engine block right underneath the exhaust manifold, you'll see a long black tube roughly 1 1/2" in diameter that goes from the water pump to the oil filter mounting base (which incorporates the water-to-oil cooler)

hope that helps

IMO, your water pump is going bad. You are seeing leakage from the weep hole of the pump. Only thing you should have to replace concerning the oil cooler tube is the gasket between it and the pump. I've never heard of one of the cooler pipes developing a leak.

Make sure to replace the O-rings including the one that is at the end of the black pipe where it goes into the oil cooler mine leaked after I replaced the water pump but it some how fixed itself
