I was going to replace the muffler on my '02 Dmax with an MBRP in 3.5" dia. to save some cash. Is this going to be worth it and help the EGT's any or am I better off just waiting and getting a full 4" system? I have a Banks 6-gun/Power PDA and never run it above level 4.

Thanks!

You know, there's an exhaust section here:

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=84

Might get better responses there. Millions and millions of exhaust related questions in there.

Straight pipe the stock system and save the money because the gains of a bigger system are moot.

Unless you are going for big HP like over the 500 mark, then look for a bigger system, but till then, straight pipe is it, and sounds great, and did not cost me a thing!

I completely missed the exhaust section.

I would put a straight pipe on it, but my friends with a straight pipe is just a little too loud for me. I am in it about 6 hours a day.

Straight pipe would drive me nuts...

I liked my 4" turbo back on my 04 but even after a few years, the drone drove me nuts.

Now, I like my cat back.

get the full 4" system..since you don't have a cat you'll drop 150+ degrees. The guys with cats drop 200+. nothing worng with replacing just the muffler, but new ones are shorter than the OEM one so you'd have to weld and possibly cut anyways.. might as well get the full system.

And for the price, we can get you a complete bolt in system for very inexpensive. Let me know if I can help.

An PM sent.

I had a straight piped stock exhaust and a 4" MBRP turbo back straight piped and there is not much difference.

It is not very loud inside the truck I need some stacks:D
