: mbrp front pipe hookup to chevy direct pipe
Juke Box Junkie 11-11-2008, 10:57 AM I just got my front pipe from mbrp and my diamond eye downpipe and both ends of pipe where they hook up r the same they r necked down w/ flat ends, i was wondering how they are suspposed to hook up to each other? any advise and i going to have to get a special clamp for them?
briano 11-11-2008, 02:16 PM that's how they all are. the clamp that holds them in place wraps around the lip of both ends. I have a picture of it in one of my links.. forget which one.
just remove the clamp on the down pipe holding the front pipe on and reuse it on the new parts.
look at the front pipe install in my sig... the top picture has a picture of the clamp.. it fits over the lips of both pipes. OR.. the true downpipe install in my sig... done both.
Juke Box Junkie 11-11-2008, 02:49 PM ok hey thanks abunch, i was told this was kinda a chore to install but i like a good challenge, lol.
Juke Box Junkie 11-11-2008, 02:57 PM did you have to make a bracket remont for your transmission dipstick
briano 11-11-2008, 03:06 PM nope.. just read that install.. I only had to loosen it and move it out of the way, then put it right back where it was.
Juke Box Junkie 11-11-2008, 03:11 PM cause there really isn't any instructions w/ mine but it does say to you have to remove the dipstick and weld a small bracket to where it it bolts to the frame, im not even sure what it looks like yet cause i havent crawd underneath the pickup yet but, it didn't seem to make much sence to me when i read it.
briano 11-11-2008, 03:16 PM maybe it's different on the LBZ's, but I dont think so. I moved it out of hte way to install and remove the down pipes, then put it right back on..never removed it from the motor and it doesn't interfere with anything.
Juke Box Junkie 11-11-2008, 03:43 PM ok, well when i get it done i'll let ya know what happened, i agree w/ you i dont think it would be different. but anyway thanks for your help, i printed out your section on the install of it. that makes alot more sence then what they sent me, its in terms i can understand if ya know wht i mean.
i appreciate it, have a good'n
josh
briano 11-11-2008, 03:55 PM good luck
