HI, just a quick question, while reading the chilton manual and testing this Accelerator pedal TPS, I found a problem... Test Procedure is as follows, Backprobe Terminals J&K the voltage should be 4.5 volts, and on depression of the accelerator pedal it should drop to 2volts. I found the initial voltage of 4.62 which should be ok but When depressing the gas it would only drop to around 3.8 volts. Could this problem cause the trucks transmission to shift erratically not lockup and not go in reverse?

Well - with a handle like that, not sure anyone here is gonna feel comfortable about the possibility of giving a wrong answer.;)

So - (you did mention 'gas') any idea of what vehicle your're working with : year, make, series, Diesel?
Very important stuff when attempting any troubleshooting procedure.

And, btw, on the TPS - make sure the carpet or inner firewall insulation is not restricting full-travel pedal depression...............
