I may be purchasing a 2005 CC 3500 SRW in the near future and I see quite a few of you guys seem to have water leak issue after a rainstorm. Is this a common problem I should be checking for when looking at trucks?

Thanks

I know that the roof marker lights were the issues on the first years. I am not sure if this has been fixxed with the newer year of trucks.
I heard the same problems when I ordered my '02 and chose to not get the roof lights. I have not had any water leaking issues at all.

Had 4 Chevy trucks since '95. All were 100% dry and each had been in some really bad storms. None had any roof lamps to create potential problems.

I opted for no lights for that reason and they are UGLY.............IMHO......;)

had a water leak issue, turned out to be the weatherstrip around the passenger side doorfame. it was replaced and have had no further issues. thought I read somewhere that if you spray the weatherstriping with silicon spray it keeps it from leaking.

The only problems, I have had when water in GM trucks is when they get old and floor rust out. Then you get water though the floor. I won't buy a truck with out clearnce light with out them they look like a yuppie truck.

I bought a used 2002 2500 cc sb in Texas brought it home to Missouri found a leak around the rear window. Took it to a local dealerand they said it was the 3rd brake light. Leaks are not covered in the warranty I dont think but they fixed it.

2005 CC no water leaks, even when going through the carwash (high pressure touchless), even with the sunroof.

I don't have roof markers, so I am apparently a yuppie.

Been raining pretty hard here today and I just checked mine and saw no leaks. I do not have the roof markers either.
