henry70 03-20-2005, 05:56 PM Does anyone have a suggestion to get better fuel mileage for my 05...It's very dissapointing to get 13.0 -13.5. Chevrolet should be ashamed to put something out there that gets that kinda mileage...I have had diesel's namely chevrolet for 20 plus years and this one is the worst......What's the deal I thought one of the concept of diesel's were to get better fuel mileage .....My 6.5 was a better truck than this..........well I am done *****ing :help: skoryaro2 03-20-2005, 06:43 PM That soounds a little low to me. Just to a trip up in the mountains of maine got 19 up and 23 mpg down I think the big thing is that cat but I tore the truck apart the first day I brought it home. dentman4054 03-20-2005, 07:59 PM henry70 - try a few little things to boost mpg like a tauneau cover, diablo predator is said to imcrease 2 mpg or so and propane injection will get 10 % too. unfortunately these mods will never increase economy enough to pay for themselves. :( converted6.6 03-20-2005, 08:13 PM I never checked my exact mileage lately but I know it sucks! But one thing to remember is more hp means ( usually ) higher fuel consumption. Sure the older diesels got better milage, but did not put up the HP numbers these ones do, and that will have a negative affect on milage. Just my 2 cents.
