Not exactly anything technical, but I thought this would be the best place to ask. Does anyone have an idea of how many 88-98 style pickup were made, and are still on the road, or someplace where I could find out. This is a question that really intrigues me.

no idea for the US but I remember back when these trucks were in production in Canada Ford always claimed in their adds to be "Canada's #1 selling pickup" and I looked it up and they were selling something like 700,000/year and chevy's and GMC's were about 600,000 each per year, totaling 1.3 million which is way more than ford but thats advertising for you. Since the US population is roughly 10x Canada, you might be able to extrapolate and multiply by the # of years these were made.

I guess that would be about 1.3millionx10x10 years = 130 million which seems ridiculously large so maybe the extrapolation doesn't work very well, considering this would be like 1 for every 3 people :)

I am sorry but I have no idea, I looked that up years ago and was just going by memory, maybe some quality time with Google might dig it up

its one of those random bits of information that is totally useless and you have no idea why you know it but then somehow, somewhere along the line, its used :D
