Looking for a beefed up license plate holder for the front of my truck. The cheap plastic OEM holder got "wiped" off the front end in a "soft touch" car wash.
Was looking at http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/showCustom-0/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2009230/c-10614/Nty-1/p-2009230/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10614/tf-Browse/sct-body/s-10101/th-StoreCatalogDisplay/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup/ss-10614?Ntt=license%20step
one of these. Don't think it would fit that well.

bpicard, I just keep my under the front seat. I had it ripped off last year when I was up camping and did a river crossing(about 15" of water lower part of the Kern river Kennedy meadows, CA). The plastic inserts are just cheap and don't hold much. Wish I could be more help.:ro)

My truck did not even come with a license plate holder. It just has two plastic threads in the bumper. It kind of sucks too because the bumper comes to a point and the license plate has to be slightly bent to fit and then it rubs against the lower plastic skirt.

I made one out of 1/16th aluminum plate. I put threaded inserts in for the bolts and spaced it away from the bumper with some nylon spacers. I'll get a pic up when I can...

Thanks BlueOx, best part is it is very solid and straight up and down unlike the POS that came on it.
