: Another plate & stick question...

I have a plate, which has not yet been installed. After reading the 1,000's of plate & stick posts, I still have a question:

If you throw an egr code w/o the stick, does the PCM care? Meaning, will the egr code cause other drivability or economy issues, or is it just a nuisance with the error light shining on your dash?

Found this from another thread...

The Finger Stick can be installed to prevent DTC’s and SES illumination. It is still unknown as to exactly how / if the ECM compensates when the plate is installed without the Stick.

Any new info on the ECM compensation?

The ECM does manage the VVT differently when there is an EGR code. In paticular, the VVT does not close all the way when EGR codes are set. I don't know what else or if it matters.
