A little help is needed.....I know I've read it before, but I can't find the answer to my need. I have a 2002 Chevrolet Duramax and I need a locking fuel cap marked Diesel.
Thanks for the help......:ro)

You want the AC Delco GT250 locking fuel cap marked diesel with the provision to tether it like the stock cap.

acdelco.com has it.

I went to the acdelco site but I couldn't find a locking cap. I found the regular non locking cap.

I finally found it Rex, but the picture doesn't show it to be tethered. Thanks for your help.

Does anyone know if this cap (GT250) is O.K. to use on the LLY's? When I do the search, it only comes up under years up to 03. I was wondering if this cap is for a vacuum system vs. a vented system or vice versa.

I bought a cheap cap at autozone, it seems to work fine, it says gas on the key but it only cost 11 dollars and it gets the job done

A lot of folks are using the GT250 cap for the LLYs. The non-locking cap, the GT230 for the vacuum system, is shown as a replacement for ALL years of the Duramax...and so it goes---the GT250 appears to work with no problems.

The GT250 I bought did not come with the tether attached however it did have a groove in the cap for the tether so I removed my old cap and attached the tether to the GT250.

I'm using the GT250 as well and have an LLY, no issues.

I'm using the one from my old silverado. Locking gas cap......plain and simple. No issues so far.:p:

Does the Delco GT250 cap fit on 90s 6.5 trucks? What does it cost? Or is there a better deal out there on a simpler cap?

Thanks for the info cid! I tried to find a local dealer, but there weren't any that were convenient and most were just local repair shops. Thanks again!

You have to "de-tether" the old cap and reattach the tether to the new fuel cap. Two small screwdrivers work fine.

My supplier couldn't come up with a GT250 and we're a Delco Shop. My salesman's gnna get an ear full next time he stops in. Napa found me one by going back a couple years. Works fine, key says "fuel". But it's not tethered, which I think I like better. I'm the only one that fuels it and why have it hang against the paint.
