: Very basic question - crossover pipe

Are there supposed to be any kind of gaskets / doughnuts where the crossover pipe attaches to the manifolds?

Both sides of mine leak and I was just wondering if I am missing something.

Also, my crossover pipe is crushed about halfway through where it looks like the front drive shaft fell on it. If anybody had an extra one laying around, drop me a note.

Thanks

Contact Wade Huisman (w_huisman), I know he just replaced his old crossover for an upgraded one, and he may still have the OEM one lying around.

I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's still sitting here in my office, waiting for a warm sunny day. Got new glow plugs and o-rings for the oil filter adaptor waiting to go on too.

No time lately to play with the truck. That should change in a month or so though, after I take my PE exam. All my spare time right now is being spent studying. (I'm taking a break at the moment;))

ShawnR,

Get in touch with MrTailLight on this group (or drive to his shop). I think he's just put an exhaust on his Burban. He's only about 20 minutes from you if he's still got it laying around.

what is the life expectancy of a 6.5 running 25-35lbs boost? From what I've read on this site, that much boost will turn your engine into a grenade. (my speculation only)

Getting off topic, Penninsular requires headers for their high performance turbo. I can see increased performance with the headers, but isn't the 6.5's major power restriction in the heads themselves? Anybody make high performance heads for the 6.5? It seems to me that if high performance heads were available for the 6.5:rolleyes: .....well think about it.....:D
