Has anyone had the GM two way starter installed? If so do you like it? Have you had any problems with it? would you get it again? The dealer here told me not to get it, he has done ten and eight have come back with complaints about the range and run times, not sure what else. It is only $150 and an after market is $600, big difference. I am thinking of taking a chance with it because of the price. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with one.

I almost had this installed when I bought the truck, but then I decided to hold off. I would be curious to here what kind of luck people are having with it.

is this the remote start that comes with the truck on the fob?

This is an option that is supposed to extend the range of the factory remote start and give you a fob that displays some of the vehicle stats such as whether the truck is running, tire pressure, fuel level, etc...

I have it installed. My truck had the remote start already so it was just $150. You get a new BIG key fob remote, one RKE module, one antenna. You have to have the dealer go in with the tech 2 and copy the settings and TPMS sensors over from your old RKE module onto the new. Then you program the remotes. Have both your old ones with you.
Thats it. Neat. I love it. Beeps to confirm the command sent etc.
Drawback - the clear lens on the remote scratches easily.

I hate it. Range sucks, its remote is huge and now im also having problems with tire pressure sensors. dealer states this is due to tinted windows.

As I have said in the other thread on this issue. If your window tint contains any metallic dyes or pigments in it, it will screw with the navigation as well. The dealer is correct.
