This was the comment from Blackstone labs regarding my oil.
I have used Delo 400 oil and a Mobile 1 extended life oil filter since I got the truck 1 1/2 years ago. Bought it w/ 128k and have 161K on it now.
My air system is a S&B set up.
I'd post the actual report but cant strike out my personal info in a PDF file fro some reason.
MIKE: Your 6.6L Duramax is wearing better than most of the ones we have tested to date. All you have to
do is compare the wear metals found in your oil after 6,233 miles of oil use to the universal averages, which
are based on 6,396 miles of oil use. So, to answer you question, we think you could easily try 7,000 to
7,500 miles for an oil change interval. The oil's viscosity was normal and no fuel or anti-freeze was found.
Oil filtration (see insolubles) was exceptional. Are you using a bypass oil filter system? Low silicon shows very good air filtration. Nice wearing Duramax!
